Antique jug with hinged pewter lid and intricate design in relief. Lovely detail on the lid. Made by T & R Boote, c.1848.
The jug depicts the biblical scene of the infant Samuel revealing his vision of God to Eli, prophesying judgment on Eli's household. The design is based on John Singleton Copley's 1780 painting "Samuel & Eli".
Condition: It has a crack close to the handle. Please see photos.
Approx measurements: 16.5 cm (6 1/2”) height, measured at spout
The item may be packaged with repurposed materials, but it will be wrapped very well for a safe journey.
