Antique Doulton Burslem Dinner Plate
Antique Doulton Burslem Dinner Plate
Gorgeous antique dinner plates from the late 1800s made by Doulton Burslem (an earlier name of the English Royal Doulton pottery).
They have a beautiful blue floral pattern on white background, and they used to have gilding but most of it is worn off.
The condition reflects their age, with heavy crazing and staining which only add to the charm of these precious pieces of history.
2 out of the 6 plates don’t have heavy staining and crazing like the rest, but they still have some chips and cutlery marks.
Please see all the photos.
All the plates are more or less stained on the back where they had contact with the table and the glaze worn off.
There are 6 plates available, priced individually.
Approx measurements:
- 10 inches (25 cm) in diameter.
Marked on the back: Doulton Burslem ENGLAND, Arnold, U.S. PATENT Rd No 168550, Rd No 258448.
The numbers 168550 are the English registry number and date code for when this pattern was first registered, which would be the date of 1891-1892.
Based on the stamp design these plates were made between 1891-1901.
The items may be packaged with repurposed materials, but they will be wrapped well for a safe journey.
