Antique Doulton Burslem Dessert Plates, ALBERT Pattern
Antique Doulton Burslem Dessert Plates, ALBERT Pattern
Gorgeous antique dinner plates from the late 1800s made by Doulton Burslem (an earlier name of the English Royal Doulton pottery).
They have a beautiful blue floral pattern on white background, and they used to have gilding but most of it worn off.
The condition reflects their age, but I think their imperfections only add to the charm of these precious pieces of history.
Condition:
- 2 plates are in very good condition (no stains on the front and very minimal or no crazing at all);
- 1 plate has crazing but no stains;
- 1 plate has crazing and staining on the bottom (no.1);
- 1 plate has crazing all over but less staining (no.2);
- 1 plate has a stained crack in the middle (no.3).
All the plates are more or less stained on the back where they had contact with the table and the glaze worn off.
Please see all the photos.
There are 6 plates available, priced individually.
Approx measurements:
- 7 inches (17.5 cm) in diameter.
Marked on the bottom: Doulton Burslem ENGLAND, Arnold, U.S. PATENT Rd No 168550, Rd No 258448.
The numbers 168550 are the English registry number and date code for when this pattern was first registered, which would be the date of 1891-1892.
Based on the stamp design these plates were made between 1891-1901.
The items may be packaged with repurposed materials, but they will be wrapped well for a safe journey.
Thank you so much for visiting my shop!
