An antique Chinese carved bamboo tobacco box, likely from the late 19th century. Made from a section of a large bamboo trunk. The sides feature carved panels depicting figures and cranes. It has a rich, dark patina, consistent with its age and use.
Condition: it has a strong smell when opened (I would describe it as a combination of old wood and tobacco smell). There are some cracks in the bamboo. Please see photos.
Approx measurements: 16 cm (6 1/4”) tall 12.5 cm (5”) wide
The item may be packaged with repurposed materials, but it will be wrapped well for a safe journey.
