A lovely drawing featuring Beauchief Abbey, signed by Louis Jeggings (Sheffield Artist, 1919-2018). Louise Jeggings was a transgender veteran who fought in the Battle of Dunkirk during World War II. She was rescued at Dunkirk with 12 other men in her regiment. Louise lived as a man for 70 years and decided to have gender reassignment surgery not long after her wife, Edith, passed away. Lomise died aged 99. Her funeral was held at Beauchief Abbey (the one featured in this painting).
Condition: great condition.

29 cm (11 3/8”) tall
The item may be packaged with repurposed materials, but it will be wrapped well for a safe journey.
